On Deutsche Welle (DW.de), the German international broadcaster, I explain [in´Spanish] the two different rationales of two distinct sections of the German elites (one centered on the SPD – the center left party, with defacto support of the ultra-left and ultra-right parties, and the other centered on the center right, on Merkel’s CDU party) as to why they both insisted, over many years, to depended on Russian natural gas, actively partnering with Putin against the interests of Ukraine and other Central and Eastern European states.
This nationalistic geopolitics of natural gas has now facilitated Putin to bring disaster for Ukraine.
